About Amaris Hall

I am a senior at Vassar College majoring in political science and applied mathematics, along with minoring in Chinese and Sociology. I am currently a political science research assistant at Vassar College, where I assist Professor Luke Harris in writing his upcoming book on civil rights and affirmative action. As a research assistant, I compile research materials and summarize research papers and legal cases pertaining to the book\'s topics. I also proofread and edit writings by Professor Harris for his book. In addition, I worked as a summer intern at Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation, where I conducted legal research and wrote a comprehensive analysis of native Hawaiian living arrangements and legal implications. My most recent endeavor was at The Legal Aid Society, where I worked as an investigative intern for the Homicide Defense Task Force. During my time at Legal Aid, I analyzed cases for the defense of our clients while learning to leave no legal stone unturned. I am passionate about social justice and human rights, and I seek to contribute to the advancement of these causes through my research and writing skills. I am also eager to learn from diverse perspectives and experiences, and to collaborate with other researchers and activists in the field.
