As a Staff Accountant I at the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) of Pittsburgh, I support the Finance Department by managing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the financial accuracy and integrity of the agency’s public initiatives.My core responsibilities include processing accounts payable, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end closes. I also play a key role in overseeing grant disbursements and monitoring grant expenditures to ensure compliance with funding guidelines and URA policies.I work closely with vendors, program managers, and external partners to maintain efficient payment workflows, respond to inquiries, and support internal audits. I also help improve processes and uphold strong internal controls in alignment with GAAP and fund accounting principles.In this role, I contribute to the URA’s mission of equitable development by ensuring that public funds and grant dollars are accurately tracked and responsibly managed—supporting projects that promote affordable housing, community revitalization, and inclusive growth across Pittsburgh.
