React, React Storybook, BFF, NextJS, TypeScript, Apollo, GraphQL, Cypress, Cucumber, Docker Working on a fantastic team building a sophisticated application that will be used globally in the largest law firms. Focusing on the complete process of building a frontend, design through to building components that are reusable (react storybook), to finally creating unit tests and e2e cypress tests. In this role, I am introduced to the concept of BFF (Backend For Frontend) which involves Pact testing. This app requires more than just the basic react hooks of common (useEffect, useState), each re-render is assessed to see if it is required and how best to use a hook ensuring a re-render only occurs based on changes to dependencies. The standard of code quality is very high and PRs are scrutinised to a high level. Also helped in Dev Ops through the creation of docker containers and improvements to pipelines. All round great fun and lots of learning!
