About Amanda Lindell
After over a decade in education, I enrolled in Ph.D. studies at UC Davis to combine my scientific training from my undergraduate degree and my experiences as an educator to really understand how people learn outside of the classroom. My recently completed dissertation studies focused on environmental education, particularly on urban environmental education systems and how they support a diverse population in meaning-making and creating change. My previous work focused on teacher professional development, live interpretation, and youth development programming at zoos and aquariums. I now bring together all this knowledge and experience as a Senior Researcher, working with zoos, aquariums, universities, and many more to gain insight into their programs and exhibits.
