ABOUT AMANDA IARUSSO

Amanda Iarusso is a senior litigation associate in McCarthy Tétrault LLP\'s Toronto office. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation - namely, class actions, securities litigation, and professional negligence. As a key member of the firm’s Public Sector group, Amanda helps clients navigate legal issues at the intersection of politics, public policy and business. She has elite experience advising on novel regulatory regimes and major commercial projects with government stakeholders. Amanda also regularly advises political parties, corporations, non-profits, and executives on their legal obligations regarding conflicts of interest, election financing, political advertising, and lobbying compliance. She also defends in-house and consultant lobbyists in investigations by national and provincial lobbying commissioners.Amanda brings significant public sector experience to her private practice, recently serving as the Executive Director of Policy and Legal Affairs to the Attorney General of Ontario, and previously a Legislative Aide to the Minister of Labour of Canada.In 2023, Amanda was appointed King’s Counsel, the youngest lawyer in Canada to receive this prestigious designation. She is “One to Watch” in commercial and corporate litigation, according to Best Lawyers in Canada, and has proudly received several alumna awards from the University of Windsor.Amanda proudly serves on the Board of Directors of the Meagan Bebenek Foundation - the leading charity in Canada which funds critical pediatric brain tumour research out of the Brain Tumour Research Centre at SickKids Hospital - in honour of her son who fought and beat cancer at just 1-year-old.Amanda is able to assist clients in both English and Italian.
