About Amanda Howerton-Fox
As an academic, my research and advocacy has focused on deaf children\'s rights to language and education, and I continue that work through policy initiatives and as founding co-director of Iona University’s Interdisciplinary Advanced Certificate in Working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children I am transitioning to a legal career to fight more directly for a broader range of civil and human rights. I am interested in anti-discrimination, immigration, education, environmental law, and the rights of prisoners.
