ABOUT AMANDA CHAPMAN
Amanda Chapman has extensive experience in urban planning and design, community engagement, neighborhood identity, and public policy in the Los Angeles area. Working in the field since 2009, she has focused these efforts on improving transportation in LA since 2015.She earned her master\'s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Michigan, with a concentration in physical planning and urban design. Her interest with urban planning began early in high school, when a required technical arts course of drafting led her into the Urban Land Institute\'s annual land use competition in Los Angeles. After spending four years studying urban planning and art history at the University of California, San Diego, she chose to continue her education in a place that would have different and intriguing issues in the planning field.Her passion for urban planning lies in particular with the ways that the physical nature of the built environment impact its social, environmental, and economic components. Influenced by the sprawl of Los Angeles and the efforts to rebuild Detroit, she has a comprehensive background of knowledge and is keen to make a difference.
