ABOUT AMANDA BUTTERWORTH

I align operating and commercial architecture so strategy delivers sustainable profit and durable customer outcomes.Across life, pensions and wealth, I have worked at the point where margin pressure, regulatory scrutiny and service variability quietly erode trust and performance. My role has consistently been to reset the system, not just optimise the surface.Within organisations including Aegon UK, Nationwide Building Society and Legal & General, I have led the reshaping of adviser-led and customer propositions in complex, regulated environments. This has involved stabilising significant at-risk AUM, aligning pricing with service reality, strengthening operating discipline under Consumer Duty, and ensuring governance and delivery reinforce, rather than undermine, commercial intent.I focus on durability. Durable adviser confidence. Durable customer outcomes. Durable margins. That means understanding how advisers truly place business, where switching friction breaks down, how consolidators assess platform risk, and which service metrics predict outflows before they show up in headline numbers. It also means translating regulatory principles into measurable operational standards that Boards can rely on.I am particularly drawn to purpose-led institutions where long-term member value must be balanced with competitive performance. Sustainable propositions require judgement, discipline and calm leadership over time.
