Any Other Way: The Jackie Shane Story tells the tale of the extraordinary life and mysterious disappearance of pioneering soul singer and Black trans trailblazer, Jackie Shane. Celebrating the rise of LGBTQ2S+ and Black trans stories through a modern lens, hers will be brought vibrantly to life through intimate recorded conversations with Jackie, her family’s journey to discover her legacy, and the voices of those who were inspired by her tenacity to be herself.This feature-length documentary is a Banger Films and NFB co-production slated to premiere in early 2024.

For me, storytelling is not just a skill—it\'s an art form that I\'ve honed over years of producing documentaries, news and unscripted content. My focus has always been on bringing diverse, untold stories to the forefront, creating narratives that resonate with global audiences. For example, as showrunner for the critically acclaimed series This Is Pop, I brought editorial insight along with new media techniques to craft episodes that redefine pop music\'s historical landscape.In my latest endeavour, Any Other Way: The Jackie Shane Story, we were able to delve into the life of an icon whose voice transcended societal barriers. It\'s a testament to my commitment to spotlighting voices that have shaped our cultural heritage. With a proficiency in both English and French, and a background in journalism, I ensure that every project I touch is filled with authenticity, depth, and a real sense of purpose.
