ABOUT AMANDA TOUMAYAN
With years of experience in research focused on clinical-community & health psychology, I am particularly passionate about using research and available data to make positive, innovative, culturally informed, and competent evidence-based change. Much of the motivation I have for working in health services is being able to effectively reduce health disparities by implementing change through collaborative interaction and data assessment, and not letting valuable insight sit stagnantly. My particular research interests are-Risk and resilience among sexual and gender minorities (LGBTQIA+)-Community, policy, and individual-level influences on health disparities-Social justice and health equity for marginalized populations-Developing culturally informed, evidence-based therapies and treatments-Understanding engagement in harmful health-related behavior (e.g, feeding and eating, body (dis)satisfaction, health risk-taking, medical non-adherence)
