ABOUT AMANDA SPARKES

I am a nurse first and foremost, with over 25 years’ experience across the NHS and health technology, driven by a belief that digital innovation must be clinically led to deliver safer, faster, better and more connected care. This work matters deeply to me because I have seen first-hand the difference that timely, well-designed care can make to patients, families and clinical teams — and the harm that occurs when systems fail to support them.In January 2023, I founded inicioHealth Ltd, a health tech company created to embed clinical insight at the heart of digital diagnostics and care pathways. The business was successfully acquired by RDi, where I now serve as Chief Clinical Officer, responsible for ensuring that clinical leadership, evidence and safety are infused into everything we do to support high-quality diagnostic care at scale.Throughout my career, I have delivered clinically led transformation programmes aligned with innovative digital solutions to solve complex operational and clinical challenges. My work has been recognised through HSJ and leadership awards, and I have led organisations through significant national accreditations, including the delivery of a HIMSS EMRAM Level 7 hospital and a JAG-accredited, state-of-the-art Endoscopy service, now used as a benchmark for designing and operationalising acute and planned care provision.I excel at building trusted relationships with clinical, operational and executive colleagues, leading multidisciplinary teams, managing large budgets, and delivering results under pressured timescales. I am comfortable translating complex clinical and digital concepts for diverse audiences and regularly share learning and best practice from transformation programmes at national forums.My focus is on bridging clinical practice and technology to enable sustainable change — ensuring innovation improves outcomes for patients, supports clinicians, and strengthens healthcare systems.
