Students interested in research should stop by!Previously, postdoctoral assistant studying how disease-associated single nucleotide mutations that do not change protein sequence could affect gene expression by modifying mRNA structure using high-throughput RNA structure mapping paired with next-generation sequencing. Previously, postdoctoral fellow in a single-molecule FRET laboratory that studies diverse RNA, DNA, RNA-protein, and DNA-protein dynamics. Previous experience in molecular biology and biochemistry of RNA and RNA-protein interactions as a technician (group I intron/protein) and as a graduate student (group II intron/helicase, viral helicase).Specialties: Teaching in the sciences, biochemistry of RNA and protein macromolecules, group I introns, group II introns, spliceosomal splicing, helicases
