ABOUT AMANDA SODEN
I have been working in mental health since transitioning out of the legal field in 2016. Previous to becoming a mental health counselor, I was employed as a civil litigation paralegal, hotel sales manager, and professional stage actor. My past work experience has all beautifully come together to support my work as a Regional Director at Monte Nido. I became a therapist because I am passionate about healing! I believe that people have the ability to change and improve their lives in ways they never thought possible. I work hard to cultivate a space of warmth, kindness and safety. Clients experience me as compassionate, warm, determined and fierce in our work together. I am also loyal and tenacious in advocating for clients and their mental health needs. In my role as Regional Director, I have the opportunity to assist where there is the greatest clinical or operational need at our Oregon sites. Going to work every day is a joy. I deeply appreciate caring for staff and clients alike. Our staff works hard to create an environment conducive to healing. The teams provide trauma informed care through a social justice lens. We acknowledge our privilege as providers and the impact of systemic racism and weight stigma in the medical and mental health fields. Our providers engage in continuing education regarding gender informed care and endeavor to create a space that feels welcoming to individuals of different generations, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, spiritual traditions, body sizes and abilities.
