About Amanda Paskey
I’m a driven accounting professional with a strong passion for numbers and a particular interest in fraud prevention and detection. My path into accounting began unexpectedly late in high school, when I enrolled in my first accounting class fully expecting to dislike it. While I had always enjoyed algebra and problem-solving, accounting initially didn’t seem appealing. That changed quickly.After hearing from a guest speaker from a local accounting firm, I gained a new perspective on the profession and its real-world impact. That experience sparked my interest and ultimately led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay. During my time at UWGB, a professor who became a significant mentor helped shape my understanding of accounting as more than just numbers—it became a way to support clients, solve complex problems, and add meaningful value.Following graduation, I joined the University of Wisconsin–Madison in the Office of Continuing Professional Development for the School of Medicine and Public Health. This role provided tremendous growth and exposure, while also clarifying my desire to further refine my skills and explore broader areas of accounting and business. That realization led me back to school to earn my Master of Science in Accountancy.A key draw of the program was its focus on fraud examination, which aligned perfectly with my interests. This path ultimately led me to earn my Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential and solidified my commitment to protecting organizations through ethical, analytical, and detail-driven work.
