Led EPA Region 8’s efforts to engage historically underserved communities in environmental decision-making. Hosted regular community meetings and Steering Committee meetings to shape those efforts. Created SharePoint sites and other platforms for streamlining and reporting on community engagement. Drafted comprehensive Community Engagement Plans and worked with EPA attorneys and staff to ensure compliance with statutory obligations. Coordinated regular monthly meetings of all EPA Region 8 staff working to address the needs of underserved communities. Conducted outreach about grant opportunities to attendees at over a dozen community and interagency meetings. Directed communication and quarterly virtual meetings between staff across all federal agencies in the Mountain West regarding underserved communities. Shaped comments on four air and water permits regarding impacts to underserved communities. Was awarded prestigious EPA Bronze Medal for excellence in fostering a deep level of community engagement in Commerce City and North Denver.
