ABOUT AMANDA LING
I’m a clinician–researcher driven by curiosity, collaboration, and a commitment to improving real-world healthcare through meaningful, patient-centred research. My work focuses on the intersection between clinical practice, data insight, and implementation science — particularly in endocrine and metabolic emergencies such as adrenal crisis and severe hyponatraemia.Currently, I’m involved in several national NHS initiatives, including RESCUE and DEKODE, where I coordinate multi-centre studies, develop research methodologies, and work alongside consultants, centre leads, and patient groups to co-design solutions that enhance clinical practice. I also lead Patient and Public Involvement (PPIE) activities and contribute to ethics submissions, grant applications, and academic publications within our implementation network. My PhD explores the feasibility and acceptability of co-designed, pragmatic interventions to improve adherence to severe hyponatraemia and adrenal crisis management guidelines. Through this work, I apply frameworks such as CFIR and IRLM to bridge evidence and everyday healthcare delivery.I’m passionate about making research not only rigorous, but relevant — translating findings into practical systems that support clinicians and empower patients. At the heart of what I do is a belief that progress in healthcare comes from partnership: between data and design, evidence and empathy, science and people.
