ABOUT AMANDA GIORDANO
I am currently a senior at Rice University pursuing two majors in Biosciences and Environmental Science, and a minor in Environmental Studies. Starting this Fall, I will be attending the University of Southern California to complete my M.S. in Nutrition, Healthspan, and Longevity.My journey into healthcare began with an interest in biology, chemistry, and environmental science in high school. With aspirations to pursue a career in medicine and become a physician, I worked as a volunteer in the ER, ICU, and Couplet Care Units at a local hospital. I became a Certified Nursing Assistant in August 2024, and I also conducted a year-long clinical cardiology research project.My path shifted when I began to embrace my stronger interest in preventive healthcare, which is rooted in nutrition and fitness. My short-term goal is to complete my undergraduate coursework and graduate from Rice in May 2026, and to obtain my M.S. degree in Nutrition, Healthspan, and Longevity at USC in May 2028, to become a Registered Dietitian. Because of my interest in clinical research, I plan to further contribute to nutrition science by pursuing a PhD. My long-term goal is to establish an evidence-based private practice specializing in chronic disease management and lipidology.
