ABOUT AMANDA CARY
I am passionate about social justice. I love watching people transform into better versions of themselves and increase their ability to speak their truth. I have a degree in Psychology from UNCA and I am currently working on an MSW. I worked for several years as a Substance Use Counselor in an MAT setting. In October of 2017 I began working for the Buncombe County Re-Entry Council. They provide supportive services to people returning to Buncombe County from incarceration. The re-entry council is located in the Justice Resource Center, an initiative born in 2017 by the county to provide resources and support to anyone justice involved. In 2021 I accepted the position of Adult Drug Treatment Court Coordinator with Buncombe County. I love the work I am doing now and feel so blessed to be where I am.
