About Amanda Carter

I am a licensed professional engineer with experience in the design of hyperscale and colocation data centers, both greenfield and retrofits, including the design of medium- and low-voltage distributions, equipment yard and room layouts, lighting and lighting controls systems, and the development of equipment specifications and sequence of operations. I have successfully seen projects from design through project close out, and regularly participate in design value engineering efforts and cost exercises. My experience includes all phases of project delivery, from concept design and space planning efforts through detailed design, permitting and construction. I have previously worked in commercial design and construction, specifically on large scale interior fit-outs, which gives me a unique cross-section of experience in the AE industry.

   In my current role, I work with our team of Electrical Discipline Leads to develop company standards and details, maintain our master specifications, and develop training programs for our junior staff. As part of the Mission Critical Facilities team, I collaborate with our other MCF DLs to develop and perform QA/QC reviews and procedures and train our electrical staff in the latest MCF design approaches and technologies. In addition, I manage the electrical design program of one of our largest technology client\'s data center portfolio. This role includes working with the client\'s other EOR partners, as well as our internal teams, to ensure a standard product across their fleet.My mission critical experience includes projects in hyperscale and colocation data centers, both greenfield and retrofits.
