About Amanda Budhram
On more than one occasion I’ve been compared to Monica from Friends which I enjoy and find to be quite accurate (if you don’t get the reference, let’s go get coffee and I’ll get you caught up!). I’ve worn many hats – office manager, research assistant, event coordinator, legislative coordinator and legislative aide – and my success in each of these roles has been grounded in my ability to walk into any environment, orient myself appropriately and then organize it into submission until it’s running smoothly and efficiently. As a result of these diverse experiences and roles, I additionally have a unique ability to adapt to and navigate the needs and roles a new position may require and hit the ground running in a variety of complex challenges. In my most current role as a Legislative Aide, I have demonstrated these characteristics in my ability to learn the language and process knowledge required to take a bill from an idea to the Governor’s desk for signature while simultaneously managing the Assemblyman’s District and Capitol calendars – a feat in and of itself if you’ve ever seen the calendar of an elected official! I love to learn and ask questions when I need to while also enjoying being autonomous and taking action when I have the ability and know-how to do so. I love meeting new professional acquaintances! Research, develop and staff Assemblyman’s bills and guide them through the legislative process, including developing committee hearing speeches and Floor statements. Staff Assemblyman on the Labor, Rules and Ag committees, including bill analysis and vote recommendations. Additionally, coordinate the Assemblyman’s calendar for all Capitol and district events and meetings.
