Chair of Governors/ Trustees (National Governance Association) Registered director. As chair of Governors/Trustees, I lead and guide a board of 13 trustees for one of the largest co- educational academy schools in Gloucestershire. Providing strategic leadership and accountability. As part of that board I have been directly instrumental in recruiting an outstanding new head teacher in May 2016. Working strategically, in partnership with our senior leadership team.Leading a full governance review, training, disciplinary panels for staff, overseeing the exclusion process, attended appeal hearings. Lead on monthly strategic review meetings with the head teacher. Chair full governing board meeting, overseeing committee chairs and meetings. I am responsible for the head teachers appraisal/pay review. Keeping one eye on the changes in educational requirements. Participation support with Ofsted. Working with our articles of association, safeguarding, academy accounts, external auditors, learning & outcomes for students and governance. Parent stakeholder involvement, appointing, inducting and training new governors.
