About Aman Agrawala
Change is something people want. However, most people aren’t willing to endure the pain, stress and uncertainty that comes with changing. I am not like most people. At the end of my Sophomore year at UC Berkeley, I became passionate about Computer Science by developing software for research labs and attending numerous hackathons. I recognized that making the switch from Chemical Engineering to Software Engineering would be a monumental task. But that never stopped me. For the next two years, I kept on engaging my passion and improving my CS skill. One of my major projects was for the Muller Lab where I developed software to process video files and track the velocity, distance and position of spheres falling in non-newtonian fluids. At the end of my senior year, I had well established software talent and was given an opportunity to join General Motors as an Associate Battery Algorithms and Controls Systems Engineer. In my first three months at GM, I automated a significant portion of the data analysis for battery testing teams by writing a program that would webscrape through GM’s internal test result pages - effectively reducing the amount of time engineers would spend processing data by more that 60%. My work was even utilized in a study on balance quality with price for vehicle sensors in order to help assist GM executives make effective decisions for future vehicles. Due to my initiative to revolutionize GM’s entire analysis procedure, I was promoted from an Associate Engineer in under six months. Now, I am once again looking for change.I want to shift from developing internal tools for the automotive industry to developing innovative web applications for the software industry. By redirecting my passion, software experience and data analytics background, I want to engage your users with the most optimal consumer experiences to maximize user retention. If you’re interested in grabbing a coffee and talking shop, feel free to send an email my way.
