ABOUT AMAL KASRY
As the Chief of Section for Basic Sciences, Research Innovation and Engineering at UNESCO, I\'m on a mission to harness the transformative power of science and technology to uplift communities worldwide.Guided by Goethe\'s timeless wisdom, “The highest happiness of man is to have probed what is knowable and quietly to revere what is unknowable”, I\'ve dedicated my career to unlocking the secrets of materials science and nano-biotechnology. From developing cutting-edge biosensors that detect diseases early, to creating carbon nanomaterials that push the boundaries of innovation, my work has always been driven by a profound sense of purpose. Now, in my role at UNESCO, I have the privilege of providing intellectual leadership and policy guidance to Member States, empowering them to harness the full potential of science, research, and engineering. It\'s my firm belief that by fostering a globally collaborative scientific ecosystem, we can bridge the divides between the Global North and South, ensuring equitable access to the life-changing discoveries that lie ahead. With a diverse background spanning academia, industry, and international organizations, I\'ve amassed a wealth of experience that informs my strategic vision. As I work to design, implement, and evaluate UNESCO\'s flagship programmes in basic sciences and engineering, my ultimate aim is to cultivate a new generation of scientific leaders - individuals driven by curiosity, innovation, and a deep commitment to improving the human condition.Join me on this mission to transform the global scientific landscape, one breakthrough at a time.
