About Amada Guapisaca

As a 2019 graduate with a Bachelor\'s of Arts in Economics with a concentration in Global Trade and Finance and a dual major in International Affairs from the University of New Hampshire, I consider myself to be extremely driven and innovative when it comes to accomplishing any task at hand. I am currently a third-year Juris Doctor candidate at the CUNY School of Law. I am also a dual degree student currently earning my Master\'s in International Affairs at the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at the City College of New York. My involvement on and off-campus are deeply rooted in my community. I interned this summer (2023) at Make the Road New York, where I was primarily able to assist newly arrived asylum seekers apply for asylum and work authorization and I helped administrate multiple DACA Clinics throughout the summer. I still volunteer at Make the Road and Catholic Charities of NY doing similar work. As a past executive board of the Latinx Law Student Association (LALSA) at CUNY Law and as current Vice President of MetroLALSA, Inc. has allowed me to positively influence Latinx presence (both student and professional) at the law school. For the past year I was working with Queens Civil Court Democratic Judicial Candidate Sandra Pérez. I have assisted developing her website and have created all of her digital ad work and social media campaign. I am extremely grateful to Ms. Pérez for giving me an opportunity to develop as a professional while leaning into my creative hobbies that I do not get to exercise very often as a law student.
