ABOUT AMADA BATTISTA
I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges and work toward meaningful personal and relational goals. I believe every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and change, and I approach therapy as a collaborative process grounded in empathy, respect, and practical skill-building. I work closely with clients to establish goals that are realistic, individualized, and aligned with their values, while honoring each person’s pace and lived experience. My work supports concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, communication difficulties, attachment issues, and relationship challenges.I am a certified EMDR therapist and frequently integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing into treatment for trauma, anxiety, depression, shame, attachment injuries, and addiction. EMDR is an evidence-based approach that helps clients process unresolved memories and emotional experiences that continue to impact present-day thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Many clients experience meaningful symptom relief and increased emotional resilience as underlying contributors to distress are addressed at a deeper level.I am certified in Anger Management and provide structured, skills-based treatment informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed principles. Treatment includes assessment of triggers, cognitive patterns, emotional regulation, and behavioral responses, with interventions focused on cognitive restructuring, distress tolerance, impulse control, arousal reduction, and communication skills. Care is individualized and may be integrated with treatment for co-occurring conditions.I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the first-line, evidence-based treatment for chronic sleep difficulties, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Nightmares (CBT-N). My work includes comprehensive sleep assessment, use of sleep diaries or logs, and implementation of strategies such as stimulus control, sleep restriction or compression, imagery rehearsal, cognitive restructuring, and arousal-reduction techniques. Treatment is collaborative, tailored, and integrated with care for anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma.
