About Amaay Gupta

I’m a Class 11 student from Jammu interested in aerospace, robotics, policy, and applied physics, and most of what I’ve learned has come from building things that fail, then figuring out why.Right now, I’m working on Skyshield, a safety subsystem for small UAVs. It uses real-time sensor data and machine learning to detect freefall and trigger an emergency descent mechanism. What started as a curiosity about drone crashes turned into a full research and engineering project.I’m also part of O.R.B.I.T (Orbital Reduction & Braking Inductive Technology), a project exploring electrodynamic tether–based deorbiting solutions for satellites and orbital debris. The focus isn’t just engineering feasibility, but also long-term sustainability in increasingly crowded orbital environments.Outside technical work, I care about access and equity in education. I founded Project Avana to help students learn practical digital and AI skills that aren’t typically covered in classrooms. Alongside that, I co-created PeerPoint, a peer-learning model that makes academic support more collaborative than competitive.Leading these teams has taught me how to align people, ideas, and execution. When I’m not building or testing things, I write. Through Ornate Odyssey, I explore themes around space, technology, governance, and systems thinking. Writing helps me connect engineering with the broader systems, social, ethical, and economic, that it eventually impacts. My interests sit at the intersection of engineering and policy: how technology is built, how it scales, and how we govern it responsibly when it begins affecting people, infrastructure, or environments beyond our control. Through Model UN, I’ve explored geopolitical systems, negotiation dynamics, and how policy decisions are shaped by competing interests, incentives, and uncertainty. I’m especially drawn to fields where both precision and accountability matter.I’m always looking to connect with people who build, research, or think deeply about aerospace, robotics, governance, or emerging technology. Curiosity, independent learning, and accountability shape how I approach teams and projects, and I value environments where those traits matter.

Experience

  1. Cca Vice Prefect

    Jodhamal Public School

    Aug 2025 — Present

Serving as Vice CCA Prefect, I lead initiatives to enhance student engagement in co-curricular activities by creating structured systems, peer-support mechanisms, and platforms to highlight student achievements. My work ensures CCAs are more inclusive, organized, and impactful. This involves:1. Leadership & Team Management – Coordinating peers and driving participation across diverse activities.2. Strategic Planning – Designing systems like buddy tracks, reflection sessions, and structured CCA periods.3. Event & Program Management – Overseeing competitions, workshops, and school-wide engagement.4. Communication & Collaboration – Liaising with students, teachers, and prefect teams to streamline execution.5. Innovation & Problem-Solving – Introducing initiatives to sustain impact.6. Community Building – Making CCAs accessible, enjoyable, and growth-focused for all students.
