About Alyssa Garza
I am a third-year PharmD student at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy with hands-on experience in ambulatory care, hospital, and community pharmacy. Through my roles as a clinical intern at Duke University Hospital and Cone Health ARMC, I support acute care teams with medication reconciliation, clinical reviews, patient education, and pharmacist consults. Additionally, I recently completed a summer ambulatory care internship that reinforced the foundational principles of chronic disease management while allowing me to apply clinical knowledge independently in longitudinal patient care.I value thoughtful clinical decision-making, clear communication, and teamwork, and I am deeply committed to becoming a well-rounded pharmacist. That commitment extends to teaching and mentorship, which I value greatly through my role as a teaching assistant and support of pharmacy learners. My interests include cardiology, academia, and leadership, and I plan to pursue a residency to continue developing as a clinician and future pharmacy leader.
