About Alyssa M Reid

Alyssa is an associate in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity group at Sidley Austin LLP in the firm\'s New York office. Her experience includes a wide range of corporate transactional matters, including public and private M&A, cross-border transactions, restructuring, strategic investments, joint ventures, shareholder activism and corporate governance matters. Alyssa brings a unique perspective to any team. She has taken a non-traditional path towards achieving her career goals. She obtained her B.A. from New York University in Economics and Spanish, with a specialized focus on globalization and the impact of technology on the media and entertainment industries. She is also a graduate of New York Law School’s Evening Division, where she specialized in Intellectual Property Law and earned certificates in Intellectual Property and Fashion Law through her association with the Innovation Center for Law and Technology. Throughout law school, Alyssa continued to develop her career while working full time in Business and Legal Affairs and advised on media rights to ensure copyright compliance with regard to all HBO Original Programming, HBO Sports (including pay-per-view boxing), live comedy programs, and special events. As a law student, Alyssa worked as a student attorney with the New York Law School PTO Trademark Clinic and represented entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses by providing counsel and filing and prosecuting trademark applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Alyssa’s multidisciplinary career path, educational and professional work experiences have led her to become an astute problem solver and multidimensional thinker. Alyssa has a strong interest in the intersection of sports, media, fashion and retail, technology and IP.
