Starkville, MS
While pursuing my master\'s degree in Plant & Soil Science- Weed Science, I have been heavily involved in the research of my thesis project and the projects of my colleagues. My project is focused on the following: the novel weed management strategy of using weed- suppressive cotton chromosome substitution (CS) lines alongside cover- cropping systems in cotton fields, determining the efficacy and synergistic effect of allelochemicals (coumarin & chlorogenic acid) used as bioherbicides on glyphosate- resistant Palmer amaranth plants, and the development of F2 populations from the cross of allelopathic CS lines and TM-1 (the recurrent upland cotton parent of the CS lines) along with molecular mapping of the allelopathic gene(s) and fiber properties using SNP markers.Experience- Field work (soil sampling, planting, harvesting, etc.)- Lab work (HPLC analysis, soil sample preparation, etc.)- Weed Team, 2022
