ABOUT ALYSSA ROENIGK
An author, broadcast journalist and senior writer for ESPN, Alyssa will cover her 11th Olympics in Italy in February 2026. In her more than 20 years with ESPN, she has covered multiple Super Bowls, Grand Slam tennis and World Cup soccer tournaments, and more than 20 X Games around the world. Her feature writing and investigative work has appeared in cover stories for ESPN The Magazine, on ESPN.com and and on SportsCenter, X Games broadcasts, Good Morning America, SEC Network and Outside The Lines. For five years, Alyssa worked as a TV reporter for X Games broadcasts and the Global RallyCross series, and hosted several action sports shows on ESPN and ABC, including X Center, an action sports-themed version of ESPN\'s flagship show, SportsCenter. She frequently serves as a moderator and guest speaker on panels and as a host for conferences and live sporting events. Her assignments covering international sports have taken her around the world, from Hawaii\'s famed Banzai Pipeline to the Everest region of Nepal to Morocco\'s Sahara Desert. The seventh season of ESPN 30 for 30 Podcasts, released in July 2020, featured \"Heavy Medals: Inside the Karoyi Gymnastics Empire,\" a seven-part series Alyssa hosted and reported with her former ESPN colleague Bonnie Ford. In 2024, she partnered with Scripps News to report and host In Real Life: Beneath the Helmet, a documentary about the future of women in open-wheel automobile racing.
