About Alyssa Ortega Coppelman
I am a photography consultant with over two decades of experience, including as Deputy Art Director of Harper’s Magazine and Art Editor of Oxford American magazine. I love seeking out a wide variety of photographers, fine artists, illustrators, galleries, and collections worldwide for images to publish and original work to commission. I have worked with Preston Gannaway, designing and co-editing her self-published photobook,\"Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea\"; and worked with David Johnson as photo editor on his photobook,\"It Can Be This Way Always\"(UT Press). Working with photographers, I provide oversight in photo editing, sequencing, and design for portfolios and photobook projects; and advise on how to pitch to potential clients. I love speaking to speaking to photography students about how to build a career in the photo industry; have juried many photo contests and exhibitions; and have been a portfolio reviewer at Review Santa Fe, Photolucida, and Fotofest Houston, among others. I have contributed writing to Oxford American, Feature Shoot, Adobe Create, Slate\'s Behold blog, WIRED Photo, and others.
