About Alyssa Mell
Stop! Don’t do it! You’re making a huge mistake!” No, this is not what my parents told me when I finally decided on my college major. This is what my soccer team yelled at me as I dribbled wholeheartedly in the direction of my own goal. While this may have been good advice at that point in my life, I’ve found that, more often than not, going in the direction less traveled is the most rewarding option. A world without anyone willing to go against the grain, would be a world without innovation. Innovative thinking and problem solving are what drive me forward to continue to grow and learn. I look forward to new and exciting challenges every day where I am able to think creatively and put my problem-solving skills to the test. In the future, I hope to continue to grow and develop these skills through internships and jobs. So, unless I’m on the soccer field, next time someone tells me that I need to stop and turn back, I’m going to think twice before turning from the path less traveled.
