About Alyssa Libby
Structural engineering and design piqued my interest at an early age. In the sixth grade, I was assigned a math project to \"design\" and construct a two-story home out of cardboard. It sounds silly, but this was a big deal for a sixth grader. This project required extreme creativity and problem solving. My favorite part of the project was seeing my two-dimensional design come to life, even at such a small scale.This interest in structures as well as my love for math and science led me to acquire both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Design and Mechanics. As engineers, we are trained to be left-brained, but I truly believe that success and innovation in our industry stems from being both left and right-brained. I am passoniate about problem solving and math in general, but I am most passionate about communication and collaboration with human beings and making their visions and designs become a reality.
