About Alyssa Guo

I like asking questions. It\'s part of the reason why I transitioned from a graphic design background to user experience design—because I cannot help but wonder what goes on through the minds of users, customers, consumers, and viewers whenever they interact with something. Even back when I didn\'t know what user experience design was, I would often look at how my friends or family members click/tap on devices or website, and I would wonder,\"Why did you do that? Why did you click there? How did you miss that button? Please swipe left. No, not that left—\"Today, I\'m a graduate student attending the University of California, Berkeley\'s Master of Information Management and Systems program, with a focus on UX Design. I\'ve worked on solo and group projects with both domestic and international clients. My projects range from member support pages for a national nonprofit to a language-learning platform exercise redesign. Throughout my projects, I have- Conducted usability testing, surveys, and qualitative interviews to identify user pain points and improve the flow of interfaces- Addressed and eliminated design issues based on research findings, with final usability testers reporting improved clarity and information retention- Designed wireframes and finalized prototypes using Figma, Miro, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and more self-taught programs- Collaborated with engineers and designers to compare yearly product performance and competitive research to drive marketing decisions on product lines. To my work I bring my love for questions, solutions, and stories. Throughout my projects, I always make sure to get to know my clients\' dreams, motivations, and visions. What\'s a goal without an initiative? And what\'s a motive without a story behind it?I do like asking questions.

   UX Designer for Amazon Photos, responsible for improving sharing recipient experiences.Key Projects & Impact:A2A (Alexa-to-Alexa) Photo Sharing:• Designed and delivered a new photo-sharing experience across Alexa devices (Echo Show, Fire TV, mobile, headless).• Partnered with Alexa Comms design and product to align messaging flows; earned Director-level sign-off (Hemal, Director of Product & Design).Shared Albums:• Created a unified album experience enabling collaboration within Photos.• Conducted multiple UXR studies to validate mental models and sharing expectations.• Supported engineering rollout across Web (Q4 launch target) and Mobile (Q1 next year).
