ABOUT ALYSSA CRAIG
A graduate from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor’s of Science in Forensic Science and a Master’s of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Licensed and Board Certified through the American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB) in Molecular Pathology. Currently working as a General Supervisor and Molecular Pathology Technologist with 3 years experience in the field. Experience in the development of new PCR methods (LDTs) including but not limited to COVID-19, RPP, UTI, STI, Antibiotic Resistance, and Nail Fungal panels. Experience in laboratory cost optimization, validation of qRT-PCR assays for various instruments, and automated RNA/DNA extraction. Experience in NGS custom panels using the Illumina NextSeq platform including procedure development, bench work, validation plans and more. Experience with LIS validation and CLIA/COLA inspections. Additional experience under a Clinical Chemistry License includes daily calibrations and QC documentation, UDS on urine specimens using an AU400, and preparation of LC-MS plates for drug confirmation. Anticipated Technical Supervisor licensure by December 2025.
