As the University Relations Program Lead at Spectrum, I deliver successful programming and outcomes for the Summer Intern Program. The University Relations team works to recruit quality candidates to participate in our 10 week summer internship program, recruiting at targeted schools in our footprint. In this role, I am able to work with Spectrum employees, students, brand ambassadors, and constituents associated with the Spectrum Intern Program like interns, managers and mentors. I recently made a switch from higher education to HR, but both are a good fit as I am able to utilize my skillsets related to development and education.

The University Relations Program Lead is a key member of the University Relations team and is responsible for delivering successful outcomes for the Summer Intern Program. In this role, I manage the planning and the execution of Spectrum’s Summer Internship Program including intern onboarding, community service event, executive speaker series, summer group project, professional development sessions, and intern graduation; Develop calendar of on-campus events and ensure attendance by collaborating with Talent Acquisition teams, brand ambassadors, alumni, business leaders, and former interns; Identify and manage relationships with university stakeholders to expand Spectrum’s brand on campus and serve as a point of contact to direct university stakeholders to the right Spectrum stakeholders; Proactively ensure regular contact with Interns and Hiring Managers to keep abreast of program content, events, performance and deliverables; Partner with internal and external subject matter experts to secure speakers, educators and other program participants to support programs; and develop presentations, social media stories, and materials.
