ABOUT ALYSSA BUMP
I am a skilled communication professional with expertise in writing, editing, leadership, and community building. Proficient in AP Style, Adobe InDesign, WordPress, and Canva, I am passionate about storytelling, relationship-building, and elevating voices through effective communication. As an Accepted Student Coach at SUNY Fredonia’s Office of Admissions, I specialize in high-touch outreach, building trust and fostering meaningful connections with accepted students. I craft engaging email campaigns tailored for prospective, inquiry, accepted, and deposited students. Additionally, I design event programs, brochures, and flyers, creating visually compelling materials that enhance the student experience and drive engagement.I hold concurrent degrees in Journalism (B.A.) and Public Relations (B.S.) with a minor in English from SUNY Fredonia, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude and completed the Honors Program. At commencement, I was honored with the 2023 Lanford Presidential Prize, awarded to one distinguished graduating senior.With a strong background in journalism and leadership, I served in multiple editorial roles at The Leader, Fredonia’s student-run newspaper, including Editor-in-Chief, Design Editor, Chief Copy Editor, and Life & Arts Editor. My writing experience extends to The Sportsmen\'s Americana Music Foundation newsletter, The Journal of Americana Music, and The Chautauquan Daily.Beyond journalism, I was an active campus leader, serving on the President’s Student Cabinet, addressing student concerns alongside administration, and as a President’s Ambassador, assisting at alumni and donor events. My contributions were recognized through membership in Lambda Pi Eta and Alma Mater Society, where I also served as Chair and received the Marc Cohen Award.My dedication to communication studies has been acknowledged with multiple departmental honors, including the Richard & Pamala Ryan Scholarship (2020), Arthur R.
