As the Mine Operations Superintendent at Newmont’s Cripple Creek & Victor Mine (CC & V), I deliver bottom line impact through continuous process improvements, cross functional team leadership, robust workforce engagement, and strategic management of large-scale capital projects. I leverage data-driven mine planning to ensure efficient, profitable, and superior operations. I have extensive experience with health, safety, security, and sustainability initiatives; life of mine planning; mining, processing, and maintenance plans; mine expansions and extensions; pre-feasibility, scoping, and feasibility studies; and reserve and resource management and reporting. At CC & V, my recent highlights include: • I conceptualized, manage, and execute CC & V’s 3-stage,$110M layback and leach pad expansion project, which will extend the mine’s life from 2023 to 2030, while adding 1.0M to 1.4Moz in site production. • I pioneered a company-leading strategy to locate and mitigate underground voids. This remedied a significant safety hazard, while increasing voids identified annually by 200%; decreasing non-excluded surface openings by 90.9%; and saving $800K annually in potential equipment loss. • I enhanced cost efficiencies, grew profit margins, and optimized operations. I saved $10.2 to $17.9M in annual operating costs, while increasing compliance with forecasted business plans by 450%. • Despite significant shortfalls in budgeted staffing triggered by COVID-19 quarantines and vaccination mandates, I achieved 98% of forecasted 2021 Q3 tonnage movement. I increased per worker productivity by 9.3% to 15.9%; grew our pipeline of cross-trained workers by 80%; and helped increase our fraction of fully vaccinated workers by 115%.
