About Alysia Harris
I love language because it\'s one of the unique cultural and biological productions of mankind and because of its capabilities to capture the internal, the passed away, the unseen, and the not-yet. My love of language drove me to pursue all of its inflections. As a linguist, I learned how semantic meaning is enriched by complex but predictable interactions with context. As an experienced editor in the Southern media landscape, I\'ve developed a keen sense for how storytelling and nuanced coverage in the media can shift both policy and cultural trends. As a poet and performing artist with an international audience, I\'ve experienced how language moves people, illuminating the unacknowledged and priming us for explosive creativity and transformation.
