About Alyshia H.

From a very young age, I’ve always had a strong interest in the news. News channels were always on in my house and my parents were always reading the newspaper. The way news was delivered in the newspapers and on television always fascinated me. I wanted to be just like journalists writing in the paper and reporting on the news, but didn’t know how to. So, at the age of seven I figured out a way to be just like the journalists I looked up to so much. I would set up all of my stuffed animals, as well as my cat, on the couch. Then I would sit at the coffee table with a bunch of papers and write and read made up news stories to them. From the age of seven I knew that I wanted to enrich people’s lives with news and keep them informed. I have a bachelor\'s degree in journalism from Penn State University. I am interested in a job that will provide me with an enriching position as a reporter. While at Penn State, I was a news anchor and reporter for Centre County Report in State College, PA and Penn State\'s PSN News. I also previously worked as a music and news reporter for the Daily Collegian at Penn State as well as a feature, editorial and op-ed writer for Her Campus, an online magazine. I’ve also worked as a news and entertainment news writer at Penn State Abington\'s, Lion’s Roar. While being a writer I was also a co-editor for the publication as well. Through working for these publications, I have strengthened my writing, interviewing and editing skills and I am well prepared to take my talents to the next level
