ABOUT ALYCIA SOCIA-PIERCE

I use human-centered design methodologies to create accessible and meaningful experiences for people utilizing government services and employees administering them. I specialize in storytelling; bringing to life the human experience with empathy derived from my expertise in ethnographic research, persona creation, journey mapping, and prioritizing solutions. I apply these design methods to better understand the complex problems clients’ face. Using qualitative and quantitative data, I enhance the user\'s experience and therefore strengthen the impact of government solutions. In addition to strategy and design, I have a passion for facilitation and teaching human-centered design to non-design practitioners and junior-level staff. I believe everyone is creative and anything is possible when we all get in the same room together. Earlier in my career, I worked at the intersection of community development, the arts, and urban planning to improve the quality of life of Detroiters. This work led me to the impact human-centered design can have in our communities and lives.
