About Aly Ferguson

Aly is an external communications and social impact professional with over twelve years of experience working at national nonprofits, in the government, and on political campaigns. She is currently the Managing Director, External Affairs at Service Year Alliance where she manages all communications, public relations, policy, and advocacy efforts for the organization. Aly has been with Service Year Alliance since its founding. Service Year Alliance is a nonprofit organization committed to making a year of paid, full-time service — a service year — a common expectation and opportunity for all young Americans. In addition to working at Service Year Alliance, Aly occasionally assists mission-driven clients with public relations, social media, email marketing, strategic communications, campaigns, and more. Most recently, Aly volunteered to act as the Press Secretary for the launch of Deval Patrick\'s 2020 presidential campaign where she worked to announce the campaign to the press, managed press on the day of the launch across New Hampshire, and continued to book and coordinate all interviews and press appearances during the first weeks of the campaign until full-time campaign staff was hired. Before her time in the nonprofit sphere, Aly was in public relations at The Incite Agency where she worked with public affairs and advocacy clients. She was the assistant to co-founders Robert Gibbs, the former White House Press Secretary, and Ben LaBolt, the Press Secretary for President Obama\'s 2012 reelection campaign. Prior to joining The Incite Agency, Aly handled press for Sen. Mo Cowan during his interim term in the U.S. Senate and continued working in that capacity as a press advisor as Sen. Cowan transitioned into private life. Previously, Aly worked in public relations on client projects at ASGK Public Strategies and fundraised for Joe Kennedy and Alan Khazei on their respective House and Senate campaigns in Massachusetts. She offers experience in nonprofit, public sector, and private sector communications, as well as political campaign communications and fundraising. She brings immense experience in public relations, advocacy campaigns, marketing campaigns, project management, and event production. Aly holds a degree in Communication from the University of Southern California\'s Annenberg School. Aly lives in Newburyport, Massachusetts with her husband, two children, dog, and cat. She has worked remotely for Service Year Alliance since 2017.
