About Aly Apacible-Bernardo

I’m a lawyer by training with a growing focus on privacy law and technology policy. After five years in legal practice in Manila, I moved to the U.S. for graduate school to pivot more intentionally toward technology and emerging regulation. Since then, my work has sat at the intersection of privacy, data governance, and strategic policy coordination. At Meta, I’m part of the Privacy and Data Policy team, where I support global legislative analysis, regulatory readiness, and cross-functional policy initiatives spanning data use, AI, and privacy. Previously, I worked at the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a Research and Insights Associate, leading research and authoring publications on adtech and global data protection frameworks. I’m drawn to thoughtful systems, clear storytelling, and the kind of work that speaks for itself. Outside of work, I recharge by traveling (and sending postcards), reading autobiographies, and catching up over coffee or matcha.
