ABOUT ALEJANDRA VILLA ALVAREZ

I\'m Alejandra, a Senior Product Engineer with a frontend and fullstack background and 19 years of experience building and scaling web products. My focus is on accessible, performant, and well-tested interfaces that balance human needs with solid engineering principles.I’ve grown with the web, from the days of marquee tags to modern AI-powered interfaces. and have always built with care and a human-centered philosophy (both for my colleagues and end users). I specialize in React, TypeScript, Next.js, tRPC, and node-based UX patterns, and my work centers on scalability, security, accessibility, and intuitive product design.I enjoy working in cross-functional environments where care for people and systems go hand in hand. Mentorship, documentation, testing, and thoughtful communication aren’t side efforts, as I believe they must be the backbone of sustainable engineering.Beyond code, I co-founded QueerJS and continue to advocate for mental health and inclusion in tech. I’m currently developing The Queer Compass, a project exploring how technology can support emotional clarity and community care.I’m especially drawn to teams working at the intersection of curiosity, complexity, and real human needs.
