I work as a Destination Specialist at Kensington Tours, creating itineraries for travelers visiting Southern Africa. I started this role in 2023. Before this, from 2019 to 2023, I was a lecturer at the Canadian Tourism College Vancouver, teaching diploma and certificate programs in Hospitality based on the AHLEI curriculum. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, I transitioned to online teaching for hospitality diploma courses from 2020 to 2021, expanding my skills into online education. Two years ago, in 2021, I joined ILACIC to teach hospitality subjects to international students. Before that, I worked as a Corporate Trainer and HR Generalist, specializing in developing and implementing training programs and modules to promote skills development and support organizational goals in the hotel and hospitality industry in Canada, the US, and Dubai. With over ten years of experience in training and quality management, I am well-equipped to contribute effectively in any people and customer service sector setting. My career in the hotel and hospitality sector began as a concierge at the Hotel Healdsburg in California. I then worked as a TEFL instructor in Taiwan before joining the One & Only Royal Mirage Hotel in Dubai as a Training and Quality Manager in 2007. Later, I moved to the Raffles Hotel Dubai as a Training Manager in 2010. My expertise includes student development, teaching, coaching, motivation, and mentorship, as well as working with performance metrics, multicultural work environments, hospitality industry standards, quality standards, SWOT and needs analysis, coaching, mentorship, and employee wellness initiatives.
