About Alvin Lachhman
I am engaged in design engineer work because of the satisfaction I derive from witnessing the transformation of conceptual ideas into tangible, real-world creations.As an Engineer I, Electrical at RWE (formerly Con Edison Clean Energy Business), I design and implement electrical distribution systems for government entities including US NAVY and VA Hospitals. I apply my knowledge and skills in sustainable design and power systems, to optimize the performance and efficiency of these systems, while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.I obtained my Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University in 2019, where I conducted research on the model reduction of power systems with asynchronous generators. I was able to identify and overcome the limitations of traditional techniques, and propose new methods that preserved the critical eigenvalues and stability of the models. I published my findings in a scholarly paper and presented them at a conference. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Adelphi University, where I received multiple awards and honors for my academic excellence. I am passionate about electrical engineering and mathematics, and I enjoy applying them to solve real-world problems.
