Mission: Mariscos Maria\'s is the family business behind how Midcity Mercado came to be. Starting with a lunch truck, Maria, the single immigrant mother of seven has served the community for over 2 decades. Along with the support of the youngest daughter\'s retail store Persona the Shop, Midcity Mercado has grown into a flourishing monthly marketplace that hosts 30+ POC businesses in the parking lot located between the restaurant and the shop.We provide opportunities for youth and minority communities to develop entrepreneurship & empowerment through cultural enrichment. Fighting displacement, promoting representation, and increasing visibility for small businesses drives us in our mission to support community development and preserve culture.• Supervise 40 volunteers and team leads by managing recruitment, onboarding, and training, while coordinating assignments, coverage, and operational flow during community events.• Improve scheduling and logistics processes to enhance efficiency and minimize last-minute coverage issues.• Partner with city council representatives to secure permit approvals for community initiatives.• Support co-founders with community partnerships, donor outreach, and fundraising strategies by connecting with brands and preparing proposals to support program initiatives.
