ABOUT ERIC ALVAREZ

My passions are the fields of geotechnical engineering, construction testing, and the geo-sciences. I’m fortunate enough to work for a company that allows me to take projects from the planning/proposal stages, through exploration and design, and on to completed submittals. This continuity through the project stages allows us to efficiently turn around complex projects with accelerated schedules and creative solutions. Recently, my focus has been working on transportation projects and oil and gas industry construction projects. Geo-Technology Associates (GTA) is an industry leader in the design and testing of pavement recycling, including full depth reclamation (FDR) and cold in-place recycling (CIPR) roadway reconstruction projects. GTA also has extensive experience with chemical soil stabilization and modification using Portland cement and lime. Since 2010, I have been involved with the design and construction of over 10 million square yards of FDR, CIPR, and chemical soil stabilization and modification. Much of this work has been to support oil and gas operations in both the Marcellus and Utica Shales, which includes extensive soil cement mix design testing for drill pad surfaces and lease roads. For the oil and gas industry, I have coordinated geotechnical explorations for drill pads and impoundments and have worked on slope stability and landslide remediation projects. I have been involved in several HDD Drilling projects to determine the geotechnical properties of the bore path. This has included field exploration and laboratory testing. I have also been involved in several infiltration studies for compliance with ESCGP permits on Pennsylvania drill sites.Please visit us on-line at for a complete listing of GTA’s services.
