Designed and implemented BLE-based Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware upgrades for integrated sensors, including viral upgrade propagation to nearby lower-version devices-Added persistent state tracking using non-volatile memory (NVM) to resume upgrade flow after reboot, and filtered target devices by RSSI, firmware version, and hardware ID-Gained hands-on experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocols, GATT profiles, and Silicon Labs’ embedded SDK for real-world device communication and control-Built and deployed custom firmware builds using Bamboo CI, generating GBL images for mobile application upgrades-Contributed to the firmware sub-repository, practiced Git version control (branching, merging, rebasing), and participated in code reviews-Debugged microcontroller behavior using log analysis, developer tools, and iterative testing to resolve connection timeouts and device response issues-Delivered a live technical demo and final presentation to engineers and interns, showcasing the complete OTA upgrade pipeline.
