ABOUT ALP KAYABASI
Alp Kayabasi is currently UPS President of Information Technology. Alp is responsible for all the software engineering and integration of global technology that runs operations for UPS Airline, Worldport, transportation fleet, global delivery network planning, package centers, hubs, automation, retail access points, international regulatory compliance, automotive, telematics, preload, and on-road technology. He directs the teams and technology to ensure that UPS is able to deliver ~24 million packages daily. Alp is a member of the UPS IT Strategy & Planning Committee, which directs UPS technology investments ensuring alignment with business strategy. Prior to accepting his current assignment, he held numerous positions in Package Operations, Transportation Systems, International Data Movement, International Security and Regulatory Compliance, Retail and Access Points, Mail Innovations and Fleet Management divisions supporting suites of applications for UPS across several countries and several business units. Alp holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, a Master of Engineering Science from Loyola University Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. Alp serves on the boards of Fund for the Arts and the University of Louisville Computer Science and Engineering Industrial Advisory Board. He was adjunct faculty at Loyola University Maryland and Towson University lecturing in computer science and engineering fields. Alp is a member of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
